Eclipse Inspired

I'm a Twilight fan and am going to the movie on opening day (although not at midnight like my other Twilight fans would like).  I didn't want to do an exact Eclipse manicure, but I wanted the colors in this to reflect the books.  That's why I can it "inspired".  Hope you like it.  I think it turned out kinda cool.

I used China Glaze Liquid Leather for the black tips, a mix of Salsa and It's So Easy Stripe Rite in Red Glitter for the red strip.  Millennium was used for the Bundle Monster Plate BM21 I used for the stars.  I coated with Seche Vite twice. 

Nails At The Beach!

Went to the beach for my birthday and needed to paint my nails.  I got these "dry nail" application package from Incoco and used them to paint my nails at the beach.  I didn't really think it turned out all that great.  I know it wasn't the best of conditions, and I would suggest that if you try this do it on a warm day or conditions (because my polish strips ripped frequently) and don't count on a perfect polish--I couldn't always find ones that fit my nails exactly.  It was not that fast and it is expensive in my book ($5 for a set of 20).  I didn't give it a chance to last the "up to 14 days" because of the immediate chips (as you can see from the pics), but I had to try and it worked for me that day.

Flashback!

I am turning 30 on Monday and this weekend I celebrated my birthday by having a flashback party.  I had my guests dress from a decade pre-millennium.  I, of course went from the 80's and made a manicure to match.  I'm attaching a picture of the dress I wore to show you the inspiration, but I cropped the photo ala Gossip Girl.  I'm a little private about my identity, but couldn't resist showing the dress.

The nails were base coat colored with China Glaze Liquid Leather.  I applied a purple glitter on top and then for the right hand applied square rhinestones for the "1980"  On the left hand circle rhinestones were applied first to adhesive strips you use to put on artificial nails and then on top of the manicure.  

Star Struck

This manicure has already come and gone on my nails, I just haven't had the time to post it.  I did it out of haste and no time for a manicure, but I thought it turned out really well.  I bought new "fauxnad" plates (Konad knockoffs) and they were cheap and have tons of designs.

The base coat color is Zoya Charla.  I used Bundle Monster plate 05 with China Glaze Millennium Muse.  I used one coat of Seche Vite to finish the look.

Summer Is Officially Here!

Since today is the first day of summer, officially, I thought it would be perfect to paint those glorious things of summer.  I am hoping to have a fabulous summer.  I hope you do too!

I don't have the patience to write out every color of every nail, so I'll give you a general list.  I first painted a base coat of white so the neon would pop with White On White and the five colors used for my ten nails are: China Glaze Shocking Pink, Celtic Sun, Japanese Koi, In The Lime Light and Essie Perky Purple.  Other colors that popped up in the work were Solar Power, In Awe Of Amber, Sun Worshiper.  I also used a mix of So Easy Stripe Right colors for a lot of the picture detailing.  Two coats of Seche Vite for the top coat.

Strawberry Fest

I'm going to "Strawberry Fest" in Cottage Grove today and had to do the most festive and appropriate nails I could.  I kinda feel a little girlish with these nails--ala strawberry shortcake.  It's cute but now I wish I had a strawberry to pose with (and then promptly eat).

Since Kari was here at my house, we turned hers into festival nails as well--strawberry flowers and their dirt.  She came up with the idea and executed all painting but the flowers.

Kari's Strawberry Flowers (+ dirt):

I first base coated with China Glaze Something Sweet.  The Strawberry is a mix of Salsa on bottom with some Sexy Silhouette as an accent pink/red shimmer.  I dotted Black and Gold Metallic with So Easy Stripe Rite for the seeds and use China Glaze Four Leaf Clover mixed with Hot Green So Easy Stripe Rite.  I used two coats of Seche Vite this time.

Kari actually painted her nails herself and I painted the strawberry flowers.  The base color is China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise and the flowers are a mix of First Kiss for the flower, and Solar Power and Lemon Fizz for the fruit.  The other hand is supposed to represent the dirt these strawberries need to grow and that was In Awe of Amber.  Seche Vite was the top coat.

Behind the Veil

Picturing this manicure in my head, I was thinking about those beaded doors that only partially hide something fun behind.  You want to get to the other side behind the veil.  I wish the glitter polish would pop more in real life, but it's still fun.

I used China Glaze Frostbite as a base blue and then put two coats of Dorothy Who? on top.  I used Konad plate m65 with Millennium.  I used two coats of Seche Vite to coat the manicure.
